Quarries, excavations and working faces

Our geotechnical experience includes inspections and designs of rock and soil excavations, working faces and restoration profiles at various locations across the UK.Site inspection and specification of ground investigations at a Shropshire Quarry were carried out to examine various geotechnical problems and corresponding safety implications including the stability of two lagoons, the main working faces and an access road and advice on the associated remedial measures and plans for extension.

Quarry

Retained to assess the stability of faces in completed and active quarries and opencast sites in Shropshire, Lancashire and Nottinghamshire; including the assessment of subsidence claims due to quarrying activities.

Proof of evidence production for a public enquiry including assessment of the stability of major slopes proposed for a potential opencast site in South Wales.

A feasibility study was conducted in Edinburgh for developing a large area of colliery spoil including possible coal washing options.
